Kit Yam is the Professor in Department of Food Science at Rutgers University. He was the Graduate Director of the Department of Food Science at Rutgers University for 10years. His research is focused on developing innovative packaging technologies including controlled release packaging and intelligent packaging to improve food safety and quality, which has been funded by the Department of Defense, USDA, NSF, NASA, as well as the industry. He is Editor-in-Chief of The Wiley Encyclopedia of Packaging Technology, Associate Editor of Food Packaging and Shelf Life, Associate Editor of Journal of Food Processing, author of a textbook in food packaging, author of a book on emerging food packaging technologies, and author of over 100 journal articles and book chapters.
